Suggestions for Performance

Performance notes are included in the score. The piece portrays a "competition" between the lower and upper brass instruments, including distress caused when a trumpet loses his place in the music.

Of musical interest, an aural rhythmic illusion is created near the end when an extended standard 4/4 section in contrast sounds like the offbeat section.
