Within a years time after arriving in China in 2007 I've had several occasions to present this talk to U.S. audiences ranging in size from four to a few hundred. I've more recently presented it to various groups in China. Its purpose is to provoke a reexamination of what Americans (and Chinese) perceive as truths about China and the Chinese people and their societal structures.
The presentation here consists of several parts:
